Ali Tareen’s twitter suggests the name of the sixth team as ‘Multan Malangs’
On 19th of December Ali Tareen won the rights of franchise for the sixth team of PSL 4. After winning rights of franchise, Ali Tareen is thinking a name for his team.
The sixth team was introduced in last year’s PSL 3 by name of Multan Sultans. But, due to failing of paying the annual fee of $5.2 million to PCB, PCB terminated the contract with team owners. Moreover, Ali Tareen bought the rights of the sixth team on seven year’s contract with PCB.
Ali Tareen in an interview with sports’ journalist Zainab Abbass said that he wants to bring cricketers from South Punjab. He also mentioned that South Punjab’s sports infrastructure has been ruined and there are only 2 grounds in Lodhran district for practice.
Ali Tareen is now considering names for his team. On 23rd of December, he went on to his twitter and started a poll among 4 names. He said that they’ve narrowed to 4 names, asking twitteratis to vote for one of them.
Most of the people voted for Multan Malangs, just above of Multan Bahadurs. He also disclosed on the show with Zainab Abbass that the person who will suggest the best name will get a chance to fly to UAE and watch PSL 4 matches.
Ali Tareen also told media a month ago that how much he was interested in buying the franchise. When finally he saw the chance to buy rights of franchise, he grabbed it.
Ali Tareen is a son of political figure and businessman Jahangir Khan Tareen. Ali Tareen himself is a young politician and claims that he aspire to bring change to South Punjab through his NGO and Cricket Project.
